As you know…Friday night is Coffee and Beer with Rich and John and we are here to show off our coffees!
As many of you know, I am an engineer for Starbucks Coffee, and when they heard I was doing a benefit event…they stepped right up!
Starbucks makes a large variety of amazing coffees, but the MOST amazing fall under the Reserve brand. My role at Starbucks is helping to design the roasteries where the reserve coffees are roasted.
At JohnCon this year we will be sampling three coffees from the South Pacific / Indonesia region and two from Central America.
We will also be exploring these coffees using different preparation methods including: Keurig, French Press, and Chemex
In particular we will be sampling coffee from Sumatra served each way and as a Reserve. If you have never tasted these reserve coffees, I PROMISE you will be in for a treat.
I will be doing some discussion of how coffee is roasted and how to do a better job of making coffee at home for a a LOT less money than you would expect.
